Should I breed my progenitors immediately? Is there any good reason to wait?

Is there any nice "do this every day" tutorial, or should I just bumble around until I figure out what options are available? Mostly I'm fine with bumbling (I think I didn't figure out I had a house in Glitch until I was level 7 or so), but I'd like to know if there's some daily "do this or miss out big time" thing.
