Next year I hope to have the time & finances to attend Wiscon myself, and if so would be happy to help organize aforesaid party... *plots*
(I have no direct experience with 'big convention parties' per se, but I used to live at - and sometimes cook for! - a 30+ person co-op that hosted incredible parties, and I suspect much of that would be easily transferable with a more convention-experienced partner in crime to help. Certain aspects of Glitchwidth were very Co-op, heh.)
