In my tiny home office, I have a page with all the emblems printed, 9 rows tall and 11 wide (because in order to fit 11 on a page, they come out 9 tall, shrug). At work, I have printouts of a couple of snaps in my cubicle: my first Purple Room in my tower snap and, of course, Autumn Day.
There are tiny bright spots on the internet--Startling Fecundity has locations as PNGs to explore; they also have the Calendar and a few other resources. (Right now, it's 11:30 am, Weddingday, 19th of Fever, year 33.)
Revdancatt has a walkable set of locations with chat, which is somewhat buggy but oooh I don't care. (Starts in Marrakesh Meadow by default. Not sure how to get to places that aren't linked directly.)
In process: ElevenGame is currently empty; it's "a project to create an open-source Glitch MMO server."
Children of Ur was building a platform before the resources got released; they should make progress faster now. They have a Google+ Group.
Dopiaza has released Glitch Run for iOS. Makes me wish I had an iThing. (I'm not getting an iThing for the sole purpose of playing a Glitch app. Probably.) I know there are other projects, both directly Glitch-based and Glitch-inspired; I am happy for all of them.
I watch the progress on the Art of Glitch book and Glitch Soundtrack, and I am happy they are both moving along. Yes, they are very slow; I knew the book would be, and didn't expect the soundtrack to be faster. I don't mind the slowness; I'm savoring the wait. Glitch is going to be part of my life for a long time; a few months delay isn't going to make a big difference to me.
I whistle the Groddle Forest Snappy Mix on my way home on the subway, and I look at the flickers of quartz embedded in the sidewalks and think, I'm walking on sparkly rock. It is two streets (with two alternate street exits) from my job to the subway station, and two more (with four) from the subway station to my home, which is nowhere near Groddle Meadow but might, by some accounts, be like Abbasid.
In my working and home life, I...
feed my pet snake and think of Humbaba
send emails to friends and think of Friendly
make a new bookshelf and think of Alph
hear a fragment of poetry, or a bad pun, and think of Lem
balance numbers in spreadsheets and think of Tii
feel the hard (sparkly) stone beneath my feet and think of Zille
fill my cup with cool, clear water and think of Grendaline
pet the trees on my way to work and think of Spriggan
look to the stars in the sky and think of Cosma
try a new meal and think of Pot
collect cans and bottles for recycling and think of Mab.
(Someday, perhaps, when I've much more free time and a faster internet connection so I can link to dozens of image-heavy sites without crashing my browser, I will write something about how much I loved Glitch's polytheism, how delighted I was that it had no "top giant." But that's for later.)
A year later... how is Glitch still in your life? What's faded; what's fresh; what do you miss most and what have you discovered is still present in your life?
